Day 1: Transfer from Pucón or Temuco Airports to Vira Vira luxury lodge

Arrival into Pucón or Temuco Airports. Transfer to Vira Vira luxury lodge in its beautiful, unique location on the shores of the Liucura River, near Pucon. Take the opportunity this evening to explore the hotel, relax, enjoy the surrounding nature and wildlife, or relax in the wooden hot tub before you begin your excursions tomorrow.

Your lodge is truly a unique experience with features including a modern working organic farm and vegetable garden, many items from which are served in the dining room. There's also an on-site boutique cheese factory and two outdoor hot tubs.

Days 2-4: Choice of excursions; Vira Vira luxury lodge

Every day of your stay at the lodge you will have the chance to choose your excursion for the day. You can choose from nature walks, kayaking, rafting, wildlife treks, culture trips, volcano climbs and many more based on your ability, mood and the weather. This will help you to make the most of your adventure in the Chilean Lake district. See below some example excursions:

1. Hidden Paradise Trail – Walk deep into the Villarrica National Park, into the Quetrupillan area, along a beautiful trail that starts in a large coihue and araucaria forest and continues through an impressive nirre and lenga forest at the top. Woodpeckers and condors are often spotted here. You then hike to the base of the Quetrupillan Volcano where the ground underfoot changes completely and we'll be able to see the Villarrica Volcano from above. Behind us lies the huge 7217ft high Quetrupillan and the impressive Andean Range.

2. Los Nevados horse riding – You'll leave from a private estate and ride into a forest of lenga and coigue trees in Villarrica National Park. You'll reach a stunning viewpoint where you'll be able to see five different volcanoes: Villarrica, Quetrupillan, Llaima, Longuimay and Lanín.

3. Kayaking on the Liucura River –This excursion is for those after a more adventurous option. You'll depart by kayak from a private beach on the edge of the pristine Licura River. Along the trip you'll enjoy great views of the majestic Villarrica Volcano and see a variety of birdlife and endemic vegetation.

4. Rafting on the Trancura River – This 13km rafting trip down the Trancura River includes rapids of grade 2 and 3, and plenty of adrenalin. You'll spend 1.5hrs navigating the river through native forests, waterfalls and unique and captivating landscapes.

5. Cerduo mountain biking – We'll start the ride in the Lower Cerduo, just 15mins from Pucón. Among the hills and rivers we'll cross a field surrounded by a renoval forest, before stopping to take in beautiful panoramic views of the Andes mountains and an impressive view of the Villarrica Volcano and its surrounding lava slag heaps. You'll be able to see a channel through the lava stream, a product of falling snow that has formed small waterfalls along the trail.

Other excursions – There are other excursions on offer such as bird-watching, heli-skiing, scenic helicopter rides, visiting a local artisanal cheese factory, fly-fishing, snow-shoeing, heli-biking, community visits, dog-sledding, heli-fishing, snowmobiling and numerous trekking itineraries. These excursions vary, depending on the season.

Day 5: Transfer to Pucón or Temuco Airports
