What was your most memorable moment?

Seeing the Glacier - it was an unbelievable sight. This was a hard choice because wherever we went we had so many memorable moments. Walking with the penguins and sea lions, the scenery in the lake district, the walking in El Chalten were all amazing

10 out of 10

Tell us about Argentinian Lakes

It doesn't matter how many photographs you see of these, it can never get close to experience of seeing them live. They are stunning, and the drive along RN40 is one of the best routes we have ever done.

Tell us about Tierra del Fuego

Standing close to the penguins was very moving. They are such gentle creatures and as you watch them their quirky ways bring smiles to the face. We were lucky to see whales on our way back and it is impossible to forget the face of the bull sea lion standing there in all his glory. To see as many Condors as we did, 10 came out to bid us farewell, was an awesome sight.

Tell us about Los Glaciares

One of the highlights of our holiday. The glacier is beautiful and to approach it from the water made it look magical. To climb above it and look down on the immense size, listening to it crack and groan, made you realise the power these glaciers had creating the country we see today.

Tell us about the Kayaking

The Kayaking is great fun even in a gale, and you get a better perspective of the lake from a quiet boat. The instruction and attention to safety was first class and the cup of tea at the halfway point was most welcome!

Tell us about the Trekking

Our favourite trek of the holiday, and we completed some amazing ones, was in the Huemules reserve. We didn't see any but the walk along the river is both relaxing and invigorating at the same time. Our guide Geronimo was a font of all knowledge in the area and pointed out so many things we would have missed without him.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Don't just go with the things you are comfortable with. We tried kayaking and horse riding which are way outside our comfort zone but had a great time. It is also worth doing some preparatory exercise before trekking, we never went a particularly long way horizontally however vertically...!! We had never used poles before, our guide lent us one and it transformed our walking experience. Just one helped the knees enormously especially in tricky areas.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I think we have become much more aware of the wildlife and local traditions.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

There were a couple of points to note which I will email separately

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

We were excited but unsure of what to expect regardless of what we read. We were blown away by what we found there
