  • Enjoy a large number of icebergs in the narrow channel, where you will see some beautiful scenery, relax in a bath at the natural hot springs before your return to Punta Arenas

Operator's Itinerary

Day 1: Punta Arenas - Isla Escarpada - Estero La Pera

Between 07:00 and 07:30 hours passengers will be collected from different hotels off Punta Arenas to then go the Commune of Rio Verde, specifically to Rebolledo Bay in the northern riverfront Seno Skyring, where you will board the M/N FORREST to start your Cruise Expedition.

Once on board and distributed to your respective cabins, you can enjoy breakfast while browsing the Forrest before arriving at the Escarpada Island around noon. At the foot of the cliffs, that characterise the south coast and after a tasty lunch you can enjoy a traditional Pisco Sour. Subsequently the vessel will sail toward Ensenada Rys located on the Chinchorro isthmus, a place where the buildings are located in some of the pioneering era of livestock in these confines.

After a short stop you will head towards the other side of the peninsula to enter into the Estero La Pera, the end of which funds to embark on the boats which will begin with an expedition to the interior of Azocar River, a beautiful course water that is gaining ground in the middle of a dense forest of varied vegetation. Then, after returning to the ship, you a comforting dinner will be waiting for you.


Day 2: Estero La Pera - Paso del Indio - Glaciar Galeria - Canal Gajardo

After an early breakfast, the ship sets sail towards the so-called Puerto Engano in Seno Skyring and the far reaching the entrance to the Estero Excelsior. While exploring a large number of islands in the area, you'll be able to see an extraordinary landscape of beautiful mountains and coasts with dense vegetation. It will not be difficult to find the distinctive marine fauna especially in the presence of dolphins, otters and sea lions.

After boarding the boats and a short navigation, you will be lead to the bottom of Estero then disembark before starting a short trek through the jungle to reach the shores of the Munoz Gamero lake, using the same trail used by Indians Alacalufes or Kaweshkar in tense times for their shipments to the north of the province.

Back to the ship, a roofer lunch awaits you while the Forrest begins it's navigation across the Skyring crossing the course of the Estero Ventisqueros. Within this deep fjord you'll anchor in Puerto Amistad, for the final part of the tour where you will climb aboard a boat expedition, which leads you to the foot of the Galeria Glacier, a large mass of ice that is clear Gran Campo Nevado.

After staying long enough to enjoy a spectacular view of the landscape, you'll begin your return to the ship to proceed towards the Canal Gajardo, a waterway linking the Seno Skyring in the Strait of Magellan. While you enjoy your dinner, the boat will continue riding the waters in the midst of an overwhelming landscape of mountains, forests and waterfalls until anchoring in safe place , Puerto Bahamondes, to spend your second night in these lonely latitudes.


Day 3: Canal Gajardo - Punta Laura - Punta Arenas

After breakfast you will board the boat and begin the navigation through the narrow passage of the channel. Depending on the time you can enjoy the spectacle offered by the large number of icebergs that accumulate in the area. After crossing a bend you'll be able to see the imposing presence of Glaciar Rengo, also part of the Gran Campo Nevado.

After enjoying the view you'll land on a nearby coast and make a short walk into a completely wild scenery of singular beauty. After nearly half a day you'll return to Forrest to enjoy a tasty lunch. After crossing the Seno Skyring again, the course is set towards Punta Laura where you'll disembark.

After walking a few meters through thick vegetation Canelos, Cohigues and cypress which along with ferns, mosses and lichens, form a unique landscape and overwhelming, you'll arrive at the sources natural hot springs , there can even enjoy a brief bath before returning to your ship.

Then the last leg of your trip until your reach the point of disembarkation to meet the vehicles that will take you safely back to the city of Punta Arenas.
