Tell us about EcoCamp
Closed due to covid and we were informed while the airport awaiting our flight to Chile. however we heard from other travelers to Ecocamp they were informed earlier. Instead we stayed at Hotel Las Torres, which was a beautiful hotel, but not the experience we wanted for this bucket list trip. We completely unde3rstand the need to stay flexible during Covid travel, but there were two specific incidents we thought could have been handled better. 1. the hotel treated ecocamp guests differently than guests who booked through them directly. We thought it was an inclusive experience however had to pay for drinks, and the hotel refused to let us rent or borrow hiking poles because they prioritized directly booked hotel guests. 2. more importantly, at least 3 people in our hiking group tested positive for COVID at Hotel Las Torres and Immediately after however Ecocamp/Cascada never informed us. We were with them everyday on the hikes and we should have been contact traced or tested immediately. It was a really poor handling of the situation from a safety perspective
