Customer Rating On return from their adventure we ask customers: “On a scale of 0-10, with 10 being the highest, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?”

Joy's Trip Date:

31st Jan - 12th Feb 2023

What was your most memorable moment?

All of the cruise was memorable, particularly the storm around Cape Horn with 100mph+ winds and 6 meter waves. The glaciers and scenery, were truly spectacular. It was good to be in a relatively small group of people.

Tell us about The Fjords

Wonderful views. Enjoyed the feeling of space.

Tell us about Tierra del Fuego

Would have liked an extra day here rather than in Buenos Aires, but only because I’m not the city type.

Tell us about Buenos Aires

One night too long for me in the city! Although I did enjoy seeing it and Victoria gave us a interesting tour.

Tell us about Torres del Paine

Maybe Remota Hotel was a little too far away from the park to really feel immersed. The hotel was ‘interesting’. It was clean and warm, the character was unusual to say the least. If we had stayed for any longer than the 3 nights the menu would have been a bit of a let down, no specials, not all the dishes available. Breakfast was good in variety. The food was of good quality and tasty, but somewhat different presentation of dishes to that which you would have expected, - not always in a good way. There is a hotel just up the road, a converted lamb processing plant, where we visited the museum, which may be worth a look. The Singular in Puerto Bories.

Something Else?

A very minor point in the otherwise excellent organisation; the trip to Valparaiso was still on our final itinerary.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Do spend enough time talking to the very helpful and knowledgeable team at Swoop when the itinerary is being put together for you. It was the first time we had enjoyed this experience and another time I would take a bit longer to research the options and make the trip even better.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

With the horse ride across the Andes first then the cruise then the national park - you bet it has! I am hesitant to say ‘trip of a lifetime’ because I want to go and explore and experience more and more, trip of a lifetime implies a ‘once in a lifetime’ - NO!

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The team, Peter, ‘got’ what we wanted very well. Cecilia was great at putting the details all in place. Thank you both so very much for a happy and stress-free trip.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

Prepared, yes, but not actually ready - who knew how fabulous a place it is!? Excited more about going back now that we have been.
