What was your most memorable moment?

Hike to the base of towers of the Torres del Paine was one of the best hikes I have ever done. The trail was as much beautiful as the towers. The stay at Eco camp was also one of the best and unique experiences we had. The whole place was so beautiful. We had very memorable time there.

Tell us about EcoCamp

The best unique experience of glamping. The domes were very cozy and comfortable with heater, plush mattress and blankets, nice hot shower and toilet. The food was excellent and gourmet style. My wife wanted vegetarian meals. There were plenty of veg/vegan options every day for every meals. The community environment and vibe was awesome. Made many new friends. The staff at dining were awesome. My wife had a fine massage there and it was awesome! We had fantastic views of Milky Way and nebula in the night sky most of the days. The view of the towers from the Eco camp in the morning is amazing in golden alpine glow. Overall it is the best place for glamping! ( all the snacks and energy bars that we carried from USA were never used since the food options at eco camp were many and abundant)

Tell us about Buenos Aires

Nice stay at the hotel and nice city tours. The tango show felt like a tourist trap. The dining experience was something to forget. It felt like serving meals in international flights and eating in cramped seats. Made to sit there for over 4 hours. Otherwise loved BA city. Loved seeing Messi’s image everywhere.

Tell us about Los Glaciares

The hike to the glacier and walk on the ice were awesome. Only thing that we should have done differently was we should have carried a bottle of water to drink during the hike. no one told us to carry it. The guides were very serious about everyone’s safety. We had a medical emergency during the hike on ice, but the medics and guides of the company Hielo Aventura handled it very professionally (far better and quicker service than we get in USA). The team was well trained and everything was taken care very well professionally.

Tell us about Torres del Paine

If you have time for only one hike in your life, this is the one that you must do. One of the most beautiful hike and when you arrive at the base it will blow your mind. It feels like very unreal. The guide Rodrigo was awesome and was very helpful, fun guy. The box lunch arrangement was very good. We were fortunate to have excellent weather and clear sky. By far its the best hike in whole Patagonia.

Tell us about the Excursions

All excursions from Eco camp were organized very well. Loved all of them. By choice, we did a hard hike first, then an easy/medium one the next day, and so on. The boxed lunch and the happy hour were awesome. The best part was we were able to meet and make friends with many people who have similar travel interests like us. Great experience.

Tell us about the Wildlife

We saw many wild animals and birds. There were guanacos everywhere. Unfortunately couldn’t see Puma.

Something Else?

Swoop team Felipe and Cecilia did an excellent job in putting together a customized trip plan for us. It was very detailed and flawless and met all our needs. Actually it exceeded all our expectations. We never had to worry about anything even for small things like lunch during a transfer, as they were already taken care in the plan. Only thing that we missed was, we planned to meet Cecilia for dinner at El Calafate, that did not happen due to schedule conflicts.. They don’t try to push anything that you are not interested. We had so many video calls during planning and before the trip. Those really helped us to prepare well. Overall Swoop is the best.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

1) Highly recommend Swoop to take care of planning a stress free trip. Follow their videos and blogs for preparations. 2) Stay only at Eco camp 3) Pack light and carry light bags. But pack layers ( base layer, middle fleece, outer puffer jacket, beanies, gloves, hiking boots and poles. ) 4) Don’t miss out happy hours, community dome hanging out to meet others, massage, yoga in Eco camp. 5) Drink plenty of water to hydrate. In cold desert weather, you don’t feel thirsty.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I am always more comfortable and feel at home in outdoors in the nature. So enjoyed this trip to Patagonia since we spent whole time in the nature, including stay at eco camp.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
