Review of Hostal Amerindia – a cosy corner in Puerto Natales

Here you’ll find a short review of Hostel Amerindia in Puerto Natales. If you’d like more information about this hotel or would like to choose from over 30 hotels in Puerto Natales, visit our Hotels in Puerto Natales page.

‘Rustic’ and ‘cosy’ were the first words that sprung to my mind when I entered Hostel Amerindia. It felt warm and inviting and everywhere there were colourful rugs, flowers in a vase on the kitchen table and all the furniture was made of wood.

The bedrooms were lovely, it was easy to see a lot of care and attention had been put into making these rooms homely. The hostal has free WiFi if you need it as well as 7 en suite rooms, and 6 rooms with shared bathroom.

Then there’s a healthy breakfast, which is included in the price (except if you’re staying in a family room where breakfast is $3.800 Chilean pesos (Approx £5) extra each. This consists of tea, coffee, milk, squash, toast, butter, cheese, ham, marmalade, biscuits, fruit, cereal and yoghurt.

There are different types of room at the Amerindia, ranging from standard double rooms with a shared bathroom at the cheaper end to family rooms for up to 6 people (as per the photo above). If you’re looking for something not too fancy, but definitely authentic and good value for money, I would recommend Hostal Amerindia as a great place to come to either to get ready for your trek or to relax afterwards. It’s central location also means that it’s not far to walk to the main square, or down to the edge of Last Hope Sound to have a look out over the fjord.

Prices start at $40.000 Chilean pesos (Approx £52) per night for a double room with en suite to a family room that sleeps 6 at  a cost of $75.000 Chilean pesos (Approx £98) per night.
