Overall, how was your trip?
We loved Argentina and Patagonia. The views and hikes were incredible. Truly. The day and hike to Mt Fitz Roy will remain a lifelong memory. We did not see any wildlife - so I am sorry about that. The people were generous and warm and welcoming. Surprised by how closed down things were over the holidays - Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Eve and New Year's Day. Things just shut down. Good to know if you are planning a trip to have other things planned.
In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?
It did - and we had high expectations!

How was the service that Swoop provided?
Yes - super happy with what was recommended. We would have LOVED two nights out at Estancia Christina - WHAT a gem! The day we transferred from the Estancia to El Chalten was too long - and sandwiches or a pizza should have been provided. The day hike following this transfer was tough due to lack of a meal the night before. We left the Estancia at 5pm and got to our hotel in El Chalten at 12 midnight. Prior to our trip - Swoop was terrific. Helped with the transfer of funds for us and were always there to follow up - whilst Walk Patagonia were not. The other thing that could have been done differently is to help us understand how shut down Argentina is over their holidays - had no idea!

How was your experience in El Calafate and El Chalten?
In El Calafate - I would have loved to have seen the glacier - Morino el Perrito (?) I felt like we were so close - but maybe not?? Loved the hike in El Chalten to the glaciers and also Fitzroy was THE day and hightlight - and luckily - the weather was stunning. Guide(s) and drivers were terrific. Suggestion - tell international folks to bring US dollars to tip - we did and I am glad for it due to the economy being so inconsistent. Folks were timely and also flexible.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Just suggested - that folks bring US $ to tip folks in. We did - and it was just SO appreciated by our planners/staff. Be careful about being away over the holidays - they really do shut down in BA and Patagonia - so more help there would have been hugely appreciated.
How was Estancia Cristina?
Incredible! The service - food and location was spectacular. Wish we had had two nights there minimum! We horse-back rode, four wheeled up to the glacier and hiked 4 hours down. Food was varied and delicious. Also great for our two daughters who are vegetarians. Guides and staff = terrfic
