Overall, how was your trip?

We loved the variety of the trip. Highlights were Iguazu Falls, seeing a glacier calving and Eco Camp. The landscapes had a very different feel that anything we had experienced before. Our most magical moment might be sitting and watching the wild horses in Torres del Paine.

In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?

It was other-worldly, so different that anything I've seen. I loved that. The only reason I might not visit again is because there are so many places on my bucket list yet to go.

Would you visit again?

Maybe

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Everything about SWOOP service was top rate. The itinerary design was perfect for us. You response time to our questions and concerns was excellent. We did need some support when we weren't picked up for our Perino Glacier tour. But, we had the right local number and the hotel front desk made the call for us.

How was your experience in Buenos Aires?

We had an excellent private tour of the city. We loved the Argentine Experience. Our hotel was well located with a trendy decor we liked. Our tango show was not the best. We waited for about 1/2 hour for the shuttle to pick us up. Then, it was almost an hour until we reached the show by which time we were very frustrated and there was only room at the back of the restaurant with limited viewing. After the show, we rushed out and found a taxi. Buenos Aires is exciting and vibrant, but a little hard to navigate. It's worth seeing, though.

How was your time at the Iguazu Falls?

This part of the trip was thrilling, especially taking the jet boat under the falls. We really loved that. We had some trouble jocking for position to hear and see the guide at times. We were the only ones where it was arranged to go to the restaurant, so the guide forgot about us. We thought this tour was originally going to be private. In fact, the guide who picked us up from the airport told us it was. I think that would have been better for us. The hotel was very nice and we spent some enjoyable time by the pool.

How was your experience in El Calafate and El Chalten?

We loved the all day tour and were glad to have the hiking portion of the day. The glacier was amazing and certainly the highlight. The tour, boat, and guide were all excellent. The hotel was quite nice, and I would recommend it. This is where we had the transportation problem where we didn't get picked up for the tour and the subsequent taxi driver had to speed to get us to the boat on time.

How was your experience in Torres del Paine?

This was the part of the trip I was most looking forward to and it didn't disappoint. We loved all parts of Eco Camp. They really work to make it a special experience. The highlight for us would be the all-day trek to find the wild horses. However, the next day, a pared down version of that trip was offered and the other offering was too rigorous for us after the wild horse trek. So we ended up staying in camp. That was okay, but it would have been nice if they had mixed it up a bit more so we could match our energy level with a new experience. It was a little uncomfortable meeting the public bus in such a desolate area, but it work out fine.

How was your Patagonian cruise?

The cruise was wonderful. All the excursions were fun. Sadly, the weather kept us from 2 landings. However, I appreciated that the captain made, what turned out to be, the right decisions for our safety. I know he also made an effort to keep us in as quiet a waters as possible. It was a highlight to be able to see the penguins. We almost missed that as the wind came up and we had to hurry back to the ship. It was a little frustrating the long lines to get on the zodiacs. The ship itself was excellent and the food very good.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Use Swoop. I wouldn't mind your using my pictures, but having the time to get them together sounds impossible right now. I just got home from Paris and need to get ready for Christmas.

Anything else? Tell us anything you’d like to share that we forgot to ask! It’s ok to leave this empty too :-)

Great experience.
