Overall, how was your trip?

Hiking Torres de pines, riding horses with Guchoo on three ranches People very friendly Telling friends and family via Facebook with photos Would not probably return as there are other places in the world To go

In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?

Yes, varied landscape and terrain between south/north and Chile/Argentina

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Good itinerary including south part around Porto Areneas Erich is very different than further north Did not need or use Swoop or local agent Directions in Argentinian a little skimpy but there is really only one road Jan and I have an extensive background of international travel and work in over 140 countries, including many developing countries, I and was born in raised on a cattle ranch in Canada so my interests and ability to rough it a little and deal with the unexpected is well tuned Out accompanying couple did not have this type of experience, were more used to urban living and traveling in developed countries and the US, so while they generally enjoyed the trio did not like rough roads and some more sparse accomodations

How was your road trip?

I loved the road trip - we drove over 3000 kms and the pace was not that bad We are not hard core hikers, but did totter de pines and several other shorter moderate hikes I loved the ranch stays more than the others All accomodations were clean andcacceotable, I would only do one night in los posados (nothing to do but a nice little town) bur stayv3 nights in the previous town The last place we stayed was not too good, surly host and shared bathroom which our Co riders did not like

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

I think you need to dig a little more into the background of clients before finalizing an itinerary/ partuculaly if several people are tgaveling together - who may have different abilities, interests, and backgrounds For me thev itinerary was great but probably not quite so great for the other couple - but this was to some degree my problem not yours - and since I had not been to Patagonia before I could not provide details

Give people web pages for everything you can (ie accomodations, sites, roads) so you are not recreating information (ie booking.com has information in most places we stayed) Great trip Car was good The bottom line on trips like this is, when a problem arises is to pick either the best alternative or least worst alternative and keep moving forward
