Overall, how was your trip?
Highlight was summiting on day 5 and seeing the glaciers. The landscapes were incredible, and we finally saw guanacos on the last day. The people were very friendly and welcoming of trekkers, and I appreciated their hospitality. I would tell my friends that they need to put this on their bucket list.
In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?
Yes, it was beautiful and amazing! The weather was a challenge, but all the sceneries made it worth it.
Would you visit again?
Maybe
How was the service that Swoop provided?
Swoop was very helpful in connecting us with a local trekking group, but the communication with the local trekking group was not always easy. Overall, I really enjoyed the trip and the group we went with so Swoop's advice and recommendation was exactly what we were looking for.
How did you feel about booking directly with our partner(s)?
Yes
How likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend?
8 out of 10
How was the Full Circuit in Torres del Paine?
Our guides were the best! Shoutout to Pablo (Brujo) and Chuma. They were so fun and knowledgeable, and really helpful in letting us know what to expect. The camp experience was better than we expected, and all the campers were very friendly. The logistics worked out once we started trek, however, the communication with the folks on the administrative side could be better streamlined.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I work in sustainability, but seeing the glaciers recede at such a rapid rate has really inspired me to push harder in my work to ensure that the planet is more resilient to climate change.
Is there anything you would recommend we change to make trips like yours more environmentally sustainable?
Maybe ask trekkers to bring their own bags for lunch instead of having the refuges provide bags every day.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Expect heavy winds.
