Customer Rating On return from their adventure we ask customers: “On a scale of 0-10, with 10 being the highest, how likely is it that you would recommend Swoop to a friend or colleague?”

's Trip Date:

What was your most memorable moment?

Pros: excellent scenery, guiding was fair to excellent, reasonable value, swoop organizers were helpful and responsive to issues. Cons: lodging was variable..refugios are not a highlight...some better than others, food options also variable, should have easy hikes first and move to progressively harder hikes instead of the reverse!!! If you can afford it, choose a better option...if not, grim and bear it!

Tell us about the biking

Pros: beautiful scenery, surprisingly good lodging and food (especially compared to Patagonia), bike company was very responsive and helpful. Cons: Route is NOT flat!!! You need an ebike!!! Also, lots of dirt roads and some areas have lots of traffic. Maps were okay but could have been better.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Be prepared for worst case scenario on lodging! Bring your own food (carry nuts, energy bars, dried fruit...a better option than many of the breakfasts and lunches). Carry a good medical kit...the guides didn’t have much...other hikers wiped out my supplies in the first few days...aspirin, Tylenol, Advil, moleskin, alcohol wipes, etc) Be prepared for high winds and rain!!!

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Save up the money and stay at an Explora club or National Geographic tour 😊
