Tell us about Hotel Las Torres
Very well run but guess it should be given the cost. Rooms well away from the restaurant are favoured.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
Fantastic scenery and easy to spot wildlife. The stalking puma on our last day was a big hit.
Tell us about El Calafate & El Chalten
El Chalten is far more interesting than El Calafete with great restaurants and bars. La Tapera next to Walk Patagonia was in our opinion and that of many others the best restaurant in town. In El Calafate, Mi Rancho restaurant next to Madre Tierra was very good with a very kind owner.
Tell us about the trekking
The guides in both El Chalten and Torres del Paine were all very good. Knowledgeable and interested in learning from the group in addition to sharing their personal insights on the regions.
Tell us about the ice hiking
Great funand very well organised.
Something Else?
FYI, we had one of the new rooms in Hosteria El Puma which was excellent and its a good hotel overall. However, the breakfasts were very limited compared to everywhere else we stayed.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Go before it gets too busy! Its a fantastic part of the world.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Think I'm a bit too old for that!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
We did change our 19.30 transfer from El Chalten to El Calafete to 14.30 and reduced that days trek by a few hours. It was closer to a 4 hr transfer and with an early start the next morning we felt that was a kinder schedule. Many thanks again to the Swoop team for putting the trip together.
