Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
I think it would be helpful to advise trekkers, especially those older than 45years, that the trek is actually rather strenuous. The hike times given were much shorter than what we and other hikers we met along the way experienced. This made us stressed at times that we were perhaps way behind.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
From an equipment perspective I felt well-prepared. As I mentioned earlier, it would have helped me personally to have known how challenging the hikes actually were. There were many places along the way that were very steep, rocky, slippery, etc and I honestly was not expecting that. Perhaps I missed something in the descriptions and if so that is totally on me
