Tell us about Patagonia Camp
Loved our yurt! So cozy and well engineered with beautiful views. Excursions were excellent and perfect for our level of ability. Guides were incredibly thoughtful, knowledgeable, and authentic. Beautiful people.
Tell us about Tierra del Fuego
Ventus Australis proved a nimble ship that offered us access to unforgettable places that other, bigger cruise ships could never reach. Felt privileged to be on the first trip to Tierra del Fuego in two years!
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Weather really is unpredictable and ever-changing. Definitely follow Swoop's guidance regarding layers. We were well prepared thanks to this invaluable guidance.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes. I have a far greater respect and appreciation for those who came to Patagonia before us, from the resourceful indigenous tribes to daring European explorers. I also better appreciate the engineering that made such a luxurious trip to unforgiving terrain possible.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
We didn't realize until later that the cruise included a stop to Isla Magdalena to see the penguins. As such, we tried to book a trip to the island once we acquired our mobility pass in Punta Arenas. It would have been helpful to know that this trip was already part of our itinerary. Fortunately, we were unsuccessful in our efforts to independently book a trip to the island and avoided redundancy.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
We felt very prepared overall for the trip thanks to the Swoop team. The only time we felt unprepared was when trying to locate the check-in for the cruise. The address we were given was incorrect, and it was thanks to our taxi driver that we ended up in the right place.
