Tell us about EcoCamp

Room was perfect beyond my expectations and so comfy and warm Treks were iconic Guides were top notch. Unforeseen things happen and our guides were on top of every detail, their communication skills for what to expect were terrific and they were very empathetic when necessary. Our group of 13 was 100% bonded w/ both our guides .

Tell us about the Excursions

Self assessment of your capability is key to your perception of the outcome. If you are not a hiker/ trekker/ recreational enthusiast, then this is NOT your trip as the guides can only do so much. NOTE: The caboose runs the train Our group had fast trekkers and slow trekkers; Our guides managed the experience to everyone's satisfaction. All of us were acquaintances at the beginning and friends at the end and a lot of that has to do w/ how the guides lead.

Tell us about the Trekking

Guides were excellent .... if you are not fit and don't regularly do 10+ mile treks, this is not your trip. I am 63, live in the USA Rockies, avidly hike in the summers, but as my trek was in March, thus I was in ski condition, not trekking, so I will honestly admit it was tougher than I had expected.

Something Else?

100% - I will do this trip again

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

The W Trek is intense, so be in shape and be comfortable hiking 10 miles/ day at moderate altitude. You'll need the endurance

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I live in recreation central, so for me the experience w/ the culture mixed w/ adventure. Our guides were the difference between good and great!!!

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

It seemed based on the briefings that the SWOOP team would've been somewhere, a guide, transport, EcoCamp - we arrived at the airport and there was a huge disconnect between us / the driver. We figured it out, but his sign did NOT say SWOOP and he was not aware of our names. Swoop needs to tighten up on coordination logistics, especially as our driver did NOT speak English, we were told that we were having lunch in Puerto Natales, yet taken directly to EcoCamp where they had to make pull leftovers from breakfast and parts of dinner to feed us. Otherwise - fine.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
