Positive: seeing the towers and the lake at the end of the first day Negative: crippling fear after a couple scary moments with the wind, including being thrown 15 feet off the trail along with my friend

Our guide was incredible. He was extremely knowledgeable and managed the personalities in our group with ease and patience. I would absolutely request he be my guide again if I were to do the trek again. In general, I think swoop should ask the guides to provide their hikers with a small bit of safety information before the trek begins. I learned the hard way how to brace against the wind and after I was thrown off the trail, I became paralyzed with fear an hour later around another bend. I overheard another guide shouting to his crew how to walk across a windy passage safely, and I wished I had had any tips to have in mind beforehand.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
In the essentials list, I’d list hiking poles (at least one).
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, now that I’m back home, I’m walking to way more places rather than driving.
