What was your most memorable moment?
Gem was an exceptional guide. I loved his spirit and love for the area. My FAVORITE moment was the glacier hiking. I felt we were the only ones on the planet. Great guides. The Refugio’s were run very well and organized.

Tell us about the Excursions
The glacier hike was my AWE moment. Hiking there. Felt like we were the only people on the planet. I did the kayaking 4 years ago when I was there and would by far recommend the glacier hiking to anyone. The guides were amazing.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Make sure you’re in decent cardio condition. My girlfriend Sarah Miller and I were in better shape than the rest of the group. Emphasize the “You carry what you bring daily” as I could tell that was more of a struggle for the other three in our group. I’m 47 and Sarah is 40 and we were at a way faster pace. Gem did a great job monitoring the pace.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
I cannot wait to go on another adventure…
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
GEM was the bomb. Good at Jenga as well. I can’t say enough about him and how he made our experience what it was. I have had guides who didn’t engage well with the group and it makes the trip not as fun.
Was there anything else Swoop could have done for you to help you prepare for your trip?
As before mentioned, emphasize that you HAVE TO carry all of your belongings several miles daily. So people practice as I did with a pack.
