Reaching the towers, (Torres de Paine) with our group. It was a challenging day but very worth it, we all felt great at the top, and the view and scenery were amazing.

Tell us about Torres del Paine

This was a wonderful magnificent park with lots of diversity, around each corner was something new. The peaks, the glaciers, the lakes, all were breathtaking. The park was so very clean, we had mostly good weather but we did use all our recommended gear at least once as the weather is ever changing.

Tell us about the Trekking

Our guide was Chilean and knew the area and the park well, he had formerly been a park ranger which gave us lots of confidence. He went out of his way to make sure our trip went according to plan, stayed on schedule and made sure everyone was safe. It was challenging and some days were long, but that is what made it fun. There was always a reward at the end, an amazing view, a fun lively dinner, an unexpected surprise. I did not want to leave on the last day.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Make sure you leave at least a day on one or both ends to enjoy the town of Puerto Natales, we had 2 great dinners, and shopping for local crafts and even some new gear was fun.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I am more open to booking more remote travel destinations. The planet is truly small and we are all really so much more alike when enjoying nature. Cultures and languages almost completely disappear when everyone is enjoying the same natural beauty and all trying to achieve the same goals or reach the same summit.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Our team did a great job from start to finish.
