What was your most memorable moment?

The overall trip to Patagonia, both on the Argentine side and the Chilean side was wonderful. The most memorable moment was in Chile, during the French Valley. We had the best guide, Hector who led us through the W-Trek. Sitting in front of the most beautiful mountain was awe-inspiring. I felt at peace in this moment and was so inspired to be outdoors. I had many favorite parts of this trip. Personally, I believe that Patagonia itself is a renowned and remote place to be at the same time. Exploring these emotions while watching the views was really important for me.

Something Else?

After the W-Trek the feeling of getting back on the boat to see the glaciers even further was really incredible. I enjoyed having a Calafate Sour and staying at all the refugios too!

Tell us about Los Glaciares

The only aspect I would recommend of Los Glaciares is that the drivers have signs when coming into the bus stations or areas to pick up intended guests. Our expected driver accidently took other people and navigating the taxi scene was a bit difficult without knowledge of what happened. It was kind of the owner to come by the hotel and pay the difference for the taxi rides after she figured out what happened. Other than that the trip was great!

Tell us about Torres del Paine

Torres Del Paine had incredible views, although many tourists are there I can see why! For other travelers I would recommend doing their research before hiking and knowing which parts are a bit more steep than others.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

I would recommend that people planning a trip to Patagonia research the most important areas they want to visit. Many people don't realize that Patagonia isn't just one destination; it is a region and therefore have a variety of options when traveling that are considered Patagonia. Travelers should spent time hiking and research the best places to see. There are so many places in Argentina, such as Ushuaia or Bariloche, which are also considered great desinations. However, the majority of planning should take place to see Mt. Fitz Roy and the Chilean sides such as Base Torres, etc.

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

My experience has been a formative part of my time in Argentina, Chile, and in life. Exploring these places changed my perspective on natural beauty, travel, and outdoor adventures. Although I had been living in Argentina before, I saved Patagonia until the end. It was a different way to travel with Swoop, and one that I really enjoyed. Taking local transportation and engaging with people along the journey were aspects I found particularly enriching. This experience taught me to be independent, communicate effectively, and take my time exploring. It also highlighted that there is not just one right way to complete the journey; everyone can have a valid and unique experience.

Would you consider another trip to Patagonia with Swoop?

Yes

Would you be interested in travelling to Antarctica with Swoop?

Yes

Would you be interested in travelling to the Arctic with Swoop?

Yes

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The only recommendation I have for Swoop is ensuring all drivers are well-labled. When we arrived back in El Calafate at the bus station, it seems our driver was mixed up with someone else. As a result we took taxis. However, the company did make it right and came to apologize, which was a classy move.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

I felt really well prepared for Patagonia. Although I did not attend any of the sessions provided by Swoop, I still felt satisfied. While I am young and felt in good shape during the trek, Swoop should provide a map of the treks or connect customers with the local trekking companies prior. This would help guests feel slightly more comfotable on the level of the trek and different stages. However, it is a wonderful experience and I enjoyed each different stage. Patagonia for many is truly a once in a life-time destination and it's clear why many vistors come spend time here.
