Something Else?

The hotel in El Calafate was awful. Our room - 101- should not be available to guests. It is directly behind the lobby fireplace with no thermostat or fans offered. The room was around 80 degrees Fahrenheit and very smoky. We asked to switch rooms and were denied. We couldn’t open a window either, as the only window was next to the front door where people took their cigarette breaks. If we cracked the window to get a break from fireplace smoke and heat we got cigarette smoke in its place. Truly unwelcoming and uncomfortable. I personally had two bloody noses there due to all the smoke and heat. Laundry was also overpriced and a bra of mine was ripped in the process. In addition the lunch situation was confusing and they tried to charge us for that as well, even after we showed the email stating lunch is included. Overall I would have skipped el Calafate entirely, or done one night in a hotel closer to the glacier.
