What was your most memorable moment?
There are so many. Watching glaciers from close up calve into the see, the stunning vistas and massive mountains of Torres del Paine, seeing the Torres for the first time while driving to the park, standing on Cape Horn island, and completing the W-trek. I'll say the top two are: Observing an absolutely huge avalanche in French Valley. (awe inspiring and a little scary) Cresting the final ridge at the top of the Base of the Towers hike and seeing the lake and towers. (breath taking)

Tell us about EcoCamp
Room was great. Food was wonderful, plentiful, and beautifully prepared. Guides were top notch. Staff was super professional and friendly. Wonderful experience.
Tell us about Torres del Paine
Amazing place. We lucked out with the weather and crowds. Loved staying at the refuges. Way more comfortable and developed than we expected. The food was way more in quantity and of higher quality than we expected.
Tell us about Tierra del Fuego
The Pia Glacier and Cape Horn were the highlights. Glacier Alley was a close second. The crew were first class and they made it so fun.
Tell us about Los Glaciares
Hiking in the snow was magical. Seeing the mountains clearly at sunrise from town. Get up early, it is likely the best conditions and you don't even need to hike anywhere! La Tapera is a must for dinner!
Tell us about the Trekking
Guides at both locations were great. Probably not necessary at either location since trails are well established, but it is great to have the local knowledge, and the comfort of knowing you are not getting lost and they are there if you get hurt. It also is sometimes more fun to hike in a group.
Tell us about the Zodiac
Absolutely recommend! You get to see places that are otherwise inaccessible. Drivers and guides are consummate professionals.
Tell us about the Wildlife
See wildlife everywhere, especially birds.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Add days to account for bad weather if you can. Be flexible and understanding if things don't work out.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Every new culture adds to your perspective.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
SWOOP inexplicably changed our hotel reservation in El Calafate while were in country without telling us. This caused us to be dropped off to the wrong hotel, and we had to contact SWOOP to figure out the problem. There is really no reason for this. It caused unnecessary stress and cost us about an hour. We also had to move to a different hotel that was relatively nice, but not as nice as the first one and a little further from town. SWOOP was very responsive to all correspondence while in country, and they dealt with the hotel issue very quickly, but it should never had happened in the first place. They still never told us why the change was made. We had a reservation number at the first hotel, why the change?
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
We were well prepared. The conversations, web call, and on-line info provided by SWOOP really helped.
