The absolute best experience with the place, people, food, adventure, location, opportunity to meet and engage with other guests.
Tell us about Tierra Patagonia
Gorgeous location, beautiful hotel with great amenities. Food sub-par, restaurant staff nice but lacked training at the level of the hotel type, our guide did not provide us all the information, we had to find stuff out from other guests, got the feeling he didn’t want to hike so discouraged us from things wanted to do, location too far from trailheads of the W hikes with dependence on the third party ferry so guests unable to experience Torres Del Paines in its full glory and adventure. The focus is on the facility more than the landscape adventure in the mountains.
Tell us about Buenos Aires
Beautiful and vibrant city. Hotel and its surroundings were very nice with good restaurant opportunities, tango show was excellent but its food was sub-par. The Sunday market was unimpressive with old, thrift shop items. Was hard-pressed to figure out what is truly Argentinian, its culture. Only Tango and the soccer players come to mind and Mate.

Tell us about Torres del Paine
A must do but lodging at Explora which is located closer to trailheads and has their own catamaran so logistical issues are solved. Would love to go back!
Tell us about the Excursions
Excursions were beautiful with great adventures. Our guide in Torres del Paines walked off far ahead of us on trails without looking back which was annoying and even concerning.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
If you want to do the W without the camping and Refugio’s, stay in Explora and don’t go in shoulder months due to more unpredictable weather.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Sad were the speed of glaciers receding. Guides in Patagonia were knowledgeable and concerned about the landscape around them.
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
Please think of the basic human needs, not just the “job”. Don’t treat tourists like cattle to be moved.
