Tell us about Torres del Paine
The tent camping was great and the accommodations were nicer than I expected.
Tell us about the Trekking
We did not have a guide, and I recommend it to other hikers with the caveat of how to train for it.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?
Don't overpack. Having a lighter pack helps.
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
Yes, it brought me confidence that, at 63, I can still accomplish a trek like this!
Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?
More time and attention to the briefing with the trekkers on the day before they leave. It seemed a bit vague and general. As mentioned, once we arrived to the park, they charged us -- cash only-- for a shuttle which we were not prepared for, and had to scramble once we arrived.
How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?
I was not as physically prepared as I should have been, but determined to finish!
