What was your most memorable moment?

There were so many memorable moments! The scenery was amazing throughout; the ziplines over the rivers were challenging and fun (with the help of our guide); walking across the glacier (as we did with Rafael, our guide) was amazing; but perhaps the most memorable moment of all was reaching the top of Windy Pass and seeing the entire Southern Patagonia Icefield.

Which of the following best describes your adventure?

Tell us about the Trekking

Our guide, Rafael, and our porter, Pato, were both outstanding. As I commented earlier, our trekking trip was amazing and I would definitely recommend it to other travelers (so long as they appreciate the challenge involved). The one part of the trek that was not perfect for us was the food, particularly in the backpacking portion of the trek. There probably is no alternative or solution. But I felt like we could have brought some similar food from home (freeze-dried meals, dried soups, cookies, crackers, chocolate bars) that would have gone down easier and tasted better than the local options we were less familiar with. And I would have been happy to bring some food from home and use it on the trek.

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

We went on the Ultimate Chalten Trek late in the season (starting on April 4). This worked out fine. We were lucky with the weather and had virtually no rain, and little wind (unlike the week before our trip, which apparently was awful throughout). It was often cold during our week, but we had brought very good warm gear. And the fall colors were amazing! So in general, trekking at this time of year worked out very well (and also was perhaps somewhat less crowded).

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

Not other than as commented earlier...

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

Not other than as commented earlier. The team was fantastic! Great support from Swoop.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

Thanks to the Swoop packing list, we were extremely well prepared. We were very excited for the trip, but it fully lived up to our expectations.
