Tell us about Patagonia Camp

Great people at the camp, really good food and a number of good treks

Tell us about Buenos Aires

The meal at Fogon Asado was superb and we recommended it to other travelers we met along the way

Tell us about the Excursions

Beagle Foodie Experience. The food was great but the guide was not very good. The guide had a small vehicle with 7 adults in it. I felt like I was in a clown car in the circus. No leg room, middle seat had 3 adults on it squished together and to get in and out of the vehicle the middle row of seats had to be flipped forward. On top of this the guide was not very well informed... he told me that the winter temperature in Canada is -50°, that Canadians trapped beavers to make their clothing and finally that we eat Beaver meat because Canadian beaver meat is more tender than beaver meat in Ushuaia. My wife asked the driver if he would stop at certain spots on the way back to town and he said he would but never did. It felt like he just wanted to get to the reataurant and back as quickly as he could.

How prepared and excited for Patagonia did you feel?

We were over prepared for the trip which is way better than not being ready. Excitement level was pretty high!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Bring extra tip money. The recommended tipping was $10 per day per person but some of our guides went out of their way to ensure that we had a memorable experience and we tipped them more than the recommended amount. We had a lot of extra tip money and almost ran out.

Do you have any recommendations for Swoop, or feedback about the team?

The tour in Buenos Aires was scheduled for 5 hours and after 3 hours the guide said we had seen everything in the itinerary. So we agreed to be taken to our hotel. If the tour only takes 3 hours then it should be scheduled for 3 hours and the cost adjusted accordingly. Save a little bit of money for future travelers.
