We recently joined your 5-day, 4-night customized W Trek program in Torres del Paine, and I would like to share our overall experience. EcoCamp has long been on our list, and we began planning and booking this trip nearly six months in advance. From start to finish, our general impression was positive. The service attitude was excellent, and the camp’s location is truly outstanding—right in front of the Torres, with breathtaking views even from our room. We especially appreciated the unique design and indigenous-inspired style of the accommodations. The rooms were clean, spacious, comfortable, and very cozy. The facilities worked wonderfully, including the fireplace and heating system, and there was always plenty of hot water. After long hikes, being able to take a hot shower and rest comfortably was a real pleasure. The front desk staff were warm, attentive, and thoughtful throughout our stay. We were also very satisfied with the restaurant service—the staff were friendly, and the food was fresh, diverse, and delicious. Our guides were knowledgeable and experienced, providing clear explanations of each activity and patiently answering all our questions. However, we did encounter a serious issue on the final day that significantly affected our experience. Shortly after the hike began, my sister—who walks at a slightly slower pace—fell behind. The assistant guide repeatedly pressured her to turn back. She was not offered assistance to return safely to the camp, and was even told that if she insisted on continuing, the ranger patrol would be notified. This situation caused her considerable distress. She felt unable to continue arguing or keep up with the group, and ultimately had to abandon the hike midway, which was very disappointing. I was deeply upset when I learned about this. The main reason I chose EcoCamp was to celebrate my sister’s 60th birthday and fulfill her dream of hiking in Patagonia. We had successfully summited Mount Kilimanjaro last year, so our physical fitness and endurance are strong. It was therefore especially disheartening that this dream was disrupted by what felt like a harsh and inflexible response from the guide. Thank you for taking the time to read our feedback.

We would like to offer a few suggestions for improvement: * Creating a WhatsApp group in advance to share daily weather forecasts, hiking routes, difficulty levels, and important reminders. * Grouping participants based on hiking ability and pace to better accommodate different needs. * Continuing to improve guide training, especially in terms of service awareness and handling situations with empathy and flexibility. We sincerely hope EcoCamp continues to grow and improve, and that future guests will not encounter similar situations. Thank you for taking the time to read our feedback.
