Operator's Itinerary

This itinerary is an example of how you could spend your time on this all-inclusive experience. Please see the full list of day excursions on the excursions page.

Day 1: Transfer to Torres del Paine National Park; Awasi Patagonia

You will take a private transfer from Puerto Natales to Awasi Patagonia, your luxury base in Torres del Paine National Park. This is the only 100% private lodge in Torres del Paine – all excursions and transport are exclusive to you.

Take the opportunity this evening to relax at Awasi and explore the reserve before your adventure begins tomorrow. Comprising only 14 private villas, each with its own hot tub, this Patagonian lodge complex at Awasi is fully in-line with its Relais & Chateaux category grading; it provides an intimate, high-class experience for the discerning traveller. The central lodge building provides a peaceful communal area for reading, enjoying a glass of wine, or mingling with the other guests, while the centre of attention is, inevitably, the amazing view over the Torres del Paine.

Meals: Appetiser, dinner

Accommodation: Awasi Patagonia

Day 2: Trek to the base of the Towers or Fossil Trail; Awasi Patagonia

Hike to the base of the Towers – This challenging trek is the most popular in the National Park and for a very good reason – the prize is an up-close view of Las Torres (The Towers). You will feel as if you are standing in the middle of a famous postcard of the area at the base of the towers, next to a lagoon carved by glaciers and in awe of over 12 million years of geologic changes that shaped them. To reach this gem, you will have to negotiate several obstacles: a climb up 800m of irregular terrain, strong winds, changing weather, and different ecosystems.

Fossil Trail – Enter the La Cumbres Baguales Geological and Paleontological Park and experience walking in a highland steppe landscape. Visit places where you can observe and get to know about the flora and fauna that has existed here over the last 40 million years. Plants, molluscs, sharks teeth and tree trunks are part of these fossilised remains that appear in the deep valleys and cliffs. Guanacos will accompany you on this tour.

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, appetiser, dinner

Day 3: Trek the French Valley or Lazo-Weber; Awasi Patagonia

French Valley – The hike to the Valle del Frances or Frenchman's Valley, is what many people consider the best section of the W Trek. You will climb steep moraines and may witness ice breaking off the Frances Glacier. A little further up, imposing peaks and immense granite rock faces will come into view with 360-degree views of the heart of the Paine massif. This excursion is long and requires you to take a catamaran ride across Lake Pehoé at the start and end of the excursion which in itself provides a stunning view of the massif.

Lazo-Weber – This excursion begins just outside Estancia Lazo. From here you will enter the National Park, passing by the southern shore of Laguna Verde, with unique views of the Paine massif. After walking through ancient lenga (southern beech) forests below the slopes of Sierra del Toro, you will arrive at one of the most amazing viewpoints showcasing the unique beauty of the extreme southern part of the National Park. This enchanting tour ends at Weber Bridge, where the Paine River flows into Lake Toro.

Day 4: Laguna Azul or Mirador Ferrier; Awasi Patagonia

Why not enjoy a half-day excursion today, giving you the opportunity to take some free time to explore before your departure tomorrow.

Laguna Azul – This is an excellent place to watch a variety of local bird species such as the caiqun (upland goose), pato juarjual (crested duck) and tagua (red-gartered coot). Laguna Azul really is a birdwatchers' paradise. In addition, sightings of guanacos (rheas) are common in this area. You will also have a stunning view of the Torres del Paine, as well as a perfect blend of Patagonian steppe and mixed forest.

Mirador Ferrier – The Ferrier viewpoint is the perfect spot to marvel at many of the wonders the park has to offer. Thanks to the panoramic view from here, you can appreciate the endless lakes, fast-flowing rivers and a large part of the imposing Paine massif.

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, appetiser, dinner

Day 5: Transfer to Puerto Natales

After breakfast, you will take a private transfer back to Puerto Natales for your onward travel.

Seeing my first puma in the wild - imperious, at ease, powerful, and very beautiful. An amazimg moment.

Our back packing trip in Aysen Region in the pristine remoteness of Cerro Castillio and Patagonia Nacionale prior to arriving in Torres del Paine set the stage brilliantly and Patagonia Camp and Torres del Paine were perfect capstones to an overall "Life Changing" trip to Patagonia. Most memorable moment for me while in Torres del Paine was seeing the towers after ascending to the base.
