Operator's Itinerary

NOTE: indicative schedule only - sequence and choice of activities can be changed

Day 1: Afternoon to relax at your hotel

Transfer from Punta Arenas airport to the hotel. Take the afternoon to relax in the spa after your journey and enjoy the restaurant in the evening.

Accommodation: Luxury Hotel

Meals: Dinner 

Day 2 - Walk to Glacier Grey

Leave the hotel by catamaran (30 min). Walk from the Pehoe Refugio to the Grey Refugio with views of the Grey Glacier, icebergs in Lago Grey, the Southern Ice Field, the Paine Massif, and the Olguin Mountains. Picnic lunch close to the glacier. Return by the Grey Boat across Lago Grey (2 hours), with a close look at the glacier wall. Return by van from the Grey Ranger Station to the hotel (40 mins).

Duration: 10 to 11 hours in total, including 4 to 6 hours walking (12 km / 7.5 miles)

Note: Both of the boat crossings are dependent on climatic conditions.  Between April and August, the Grey II boat does not operate. Instead, a half day 'out and back walk' to the vista point of the glacier is offered.

Day 3 - Hike to the French Valley

Leave the hotel by catamaran (30 min) to the Pehoe Refugio. Walk along the trail that borders Lake Pehoe and Lake Skottsberg, with various climbs of less than 150 m (500 ft). Spectacular views of the two lakes, Paine Mountain, and the Horns. Cross the hanging bridge over the French River for a view of the French Glacier, the principal peak of the Paine Grande and the Cuernos. Picnic lunch and return to the Pehoe Refugio. Return by the catamaran to your hotel (30 min.).

Duration: 7 to 8 hours in total, including 6 to 7 hours walking (16km / 10 miles)

Note: The boat crossing is dependent on climatic conditions.

Day 4 - Walk to the base of the Torres

Leave hotel by van (1 hr) toward the Cerro Paine Ranch. Ascend 350 m (1,100 ft) through the Ascencio River Valley to the Chileno campground. Walk through century-old forests of beech and past gorges until reaching the Torres campground. Climb a glacial moraine until reaching the Towers vista point at the lake (a 350 m/ 1,100 ft climb). Picnic lunch and return to the Cerro Paine Ranch on foot, with a view of multicoloured lakes. Return by van to your hotel (1 hr).

Duration: 10 to 11 hours in total, including 8 to 9 hours walking  (17 km / 10.6 miles)

Day 5 - Transfer to Punta Arenas

After a hearty breakfast, enjoy the scenery as you take the transfer to Punta Arenas airport.
