Day 2 - Trek to Glacier Grey; Explora Patagonia

We'll leave the hotel by catamaran for a 30min journey, then trek from Refugio Pehoe to Refugio Grey with stunning views of Glacier Grey and icebergs in Lake Grey. From here we can also see the Southern Ice Field, the Paine Massif and the Olguin Mountains.

We'll have a picnic lunch close to the glacier and return by a 2hr trip on the Grey boat across Lake Grey, with a close look at the glacier wall. From the Grey Ranger Station we'll take a van for 40mins back to Explora Patagonia.

Length of hike: 10-11hrs in total, including 4-6hrs walking; 12 km/7.5 miles

Note: Both of the boat crossings are dependent on weather conditions. Between April and August, the Grey II boat does not operate. Instead, a half-day 'out and back walk' to the viewpoint of Glacier Grey is offered.

Day 3 - Trek to the French Valley; Explora Patagonia

We'll leave the hotel by catamaran for a 30min journey, then trek from Refugio Pehoe along the trail that borders Lake Pehoe and Lake Skottsberg on the way to the French Valley. On this section, there are numerous climbs of less than 150m (500ft) and spectacular views of the two lakes, Paine Mountain, and the Cuernos (horns). We'll cross the bridge over the French River for a view of the French Glacier, the principal peak of the Paine Grande and the Cuernos.

After a picnic lunch we'll walk back to Refugio Pehoe and then return by catamaran to Explora Patagonia.

Length of hike: 7-8hrs in total, including 6-7 hours walking; 16km/10miles

From here we'll climb a glacial moraine until reaching the Towers viewpoint at the lake (a 350m/1,100ft climb). After a picnic lunch we'll return to Estancia Cerro Paine on foot, with a view of multicoloured lakes. A van will return us to Explora Patagonia.
