Day 2: Boat Trip & Walk to Glacier Grey Viewpoint

You begin the day with a scenic transfer through the park and a short walk, before embarking on a catamaran that will take you up to the northern shores of Lake Grey.

From here the trail winds up through Lenga forests and over rocky outcrops, towards Glacier Grey. One of the highlights is reaching a viewpoint from where you get spectacular sights of the Southern Patagonian Ice field, and the icebergs that bob and float on the lake's surface.

You return along a different path to Lake Pehoe where you will have another boat journey back to meet your transfer to the hotel.

You will start your trek along a winding trail between the slopes of Paine Grande and the shores of Lago Skottsberg. There are spectacular views of the Cuernos on the way. Upon reaching the Italian Camp, you will cross a bridge over the French river and head up the French valley to a clearing where you can take in views of the absolutely mesmerising French Glacier.

You will return the way you came.

Day 4: Hike the Torres del Paine

This world-famous hike demands stamina, but the rewards are the impressive views of the three granite towers. This hike involves a steep ascent for an hour, bordering the Rio Ascensio until reaching the Paso de los Vientos. From here it's a 30-minute hike until you reach Campamento Chileno where you can have a little rest.

The walk then continues to ascend through the forest for one and a half hours, gaining altitude very quickly and with amazing views of the geological formations in the area such as folds, fractures and granite intrusions. The last hour is the most challenging and difficult, where the trail winds its way up an exposed moraine section of loose pebbles.

On arrival at the lookout, you will have an awe-inspiring view of the Torres del Paine and, if the weather allows, you can have lunch with this fantastic view. We will descend along the same trail and it takes about four hours to reach the starting point, so it definitely requires good knees and a good level of fitness.

What our customers think

The highlight of our Patagonia trip was our hotel in Torres del Paine and the excursions there.

As we were nearing the end of the Base of the Towers hike, I wasn't sure my legs were going to let me finish. I then looked up and saw a condor soaring above. It was awe-inspiring to see this majestic creature against such an incredible backdrop. It was as if the condor was there to encourage me on, my energy spiked and my body was ready to continue. What a magical experience!

Our hotel was INCREDIBLE. The rooms were lovely, the views to die for and the comfort was a blessing after our long hiking days. The excursions were fantastic and organized to fit our goals and interests. Everything was truly spectacular, I couldn't recommend this place more. I was particularly impressed by the respect and support the resorts seems to give their employees.

The hotel was outstanding from the decor/accommodations, to the food, to the view, to the warmth and welcome from the staff, and expertise and friendliness of the guides. I can't say enough about the staff from the servers to the drivers, to the guides, to the management.
