Operator's Itinerary

Day 1: In a private transfer we will pick you up. This can be from inside the Torres del Paine National Park (Hosteria las Torres, Pudeto, Hosteria Grey), from your hotel/hostal in Puerto Natales or directly from our operation base. We will begin at the río Serrrano sector (located at the southern border of Torres del Paine National Park) where we will prepare & distribute the kayaks so that we can then begin with the safety & paddling instructions. Our guides will help to recommend the appropriate equipment you´ll need to take during the the trip, so that the rest of your luggage will be taken directly to Puerto Natales by a private transfer (to store in the kayak office). This day we will paddle approximately 2 hrs across the 1st section of río Serrano, this is a calm zone that is good for us to see the level & comfort of the kayakers paddling. After, we´ll arrive at a small waterfall in the river where we will have our 1st teamwork experience in carrying the kayaks 100m approx. Depending on the weather conditions and the hours of light left in the day, we will continue for 1 or 2 hrs more to arrive at the camp for the 1st night. Dinner.

Day 2: We will begin with a good breakfast (fruit, cereal, wholemeal bread, milk, ground coffee and the speciality of the guide). We pack away the camp and paddle into Tyndall river against the current for 3 hrs or more which will bring us to the mouth of the lake, from here crossing glacial moraine mostly covered by turquoise water. For 1 hour more we paddle the surrounding pristine countryside of Patagonia. When we arrive to the bay we´ll set up camp. After spending a time in the tents and eating lunch, we´ll return to the water of the lake to visit and appreciate the front of the glacier for 2 hrs approx. We return to the campsite. Dinner. Night 2.

Day 3: Early in the morning, after breakfast and packing away the camp, we continue our journey paddling back towards rio Serrano. Between lands of the National Park and private lands we´ll see views of native forests and glacier covered mountains of the Southern Patagonian ice field where we´ll arrive at Puerto Toro in the Bernardo O´higgins National Park. Whilst the guide prepares the camp and dinner, you have the possibility to walk the trail to visit the glacier lookout and its ice bergs. Dinner. Night 3.

Day 4: With an early start; depending on the weather conditions, we will carry the kayaks 100m to the lagoon of the Serrano glacier so that we can paddle in and amongst the ice-bergs to enjoy its intensity in colour and essence until 11:00am We will pack away the camp before boarding the boat, which departs at 13:00 (either the 21 de Mayo or DÁgostini). We´ll stop off at the tourist complex "Estancia Perales" to enjoy a farewell BBQ of our experience. Arrival at Puerto Natales 17:00 hrs. Aprox. Transfer to the office. End of the Trip.
