Punta Norte

Punta Norte at the very northern tip of Peninsula Valdes is around 77 kilometres from Puerto Piramides, the main town on the Peninsula. In Punta Norte is home to a multitude of Elephant seals and Magellanic penguins that live here throughout the year and in great number between December and April (breeding season). This part of the Peninsula is usually best seen by car, and can be reached along the Ruta 30 before driving on the paved roads (with a speed limit of 60km per hour).

After seeing Punta Norte, you may want to take the route along the coast south to Caleta Valdeslagoon formed by a solid 30-kilometer-long bar spreading from North to South and home to a huge colony of Elephant seals and a fantastic place to watch Orcas (Killer whales) hunt seals from February to April.
