Volcan Osorno

A stunning snow-capped volcano that lies on the southeastern shore of the huge Llanquihue Lake, one-two hours from the Chilean town of Puerto Varas, and near to the popular Petrohue waterfalls.

This active volcano stands at 2,652 metres above sea level.

There's a wonderful 4-7 hour hike around the volcano for those wanting a 360 perspective on the volcano and its surrounding lakes, and for the more adventurous you can hike up to the summit of the volcano. Be prepared for a very early start, dawn ascent and crampons and ice axe for the final push to the summit.
