Overall, how was your trip?

My group had a fantastic time even though our weather was less than ideal and un-Patagonian (according to our guides). We had no wind at all, and soaking rain for almost two days. That said, the glacial lakes are amazing, the snow covered peaks are awesome, and the magnificence of the environment is remarkable.

In one sentence, what did you think of Patagonia? Did it live up to your expectations?

Patagonia's wild and remote landscape was worth the (tremendous and costly) effort to visit.

Would you visit again?

Yes

How was the service that Swoop provided?

Tom @ Swoop was very helpful with the planning, answering questions, and ultimately directing us to Chile Nativo. My group went in to the trip having good idea of what we were about to experience.

How did you feel about booking directly with our partner(s)?

Chile Nativo is a great partner. While there were lags in the response time (days), they had the itinerary set with all arrangements in order. More importantly, the guides they hired (freelance) were great.

How was your W trek in Torres del Paine?

Amazing landscape with my two highlights being the walk along the lake on day 2, and the approach to Glacier Grey and Refugio Grey on day 4. Our guides, Pelin Asfuroglu and Sarah Schneider were great, knowledgable, energetic, well-tempered, and a perfect match for the varying skills and attitudes in our group. The accommodations varied, and the only real disappointment was at Paine Grande given the rainy weather (we were camping that night). No heat in the refugio, a full complement of military servicemen, and wet clothes, didn't lead to a pleasant evening in the campground.

How likely is it that you would recommend this trip to a friend? (where 0 = Not at all likely, 5 = Neutral, 10 = Extremely Likely)

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Make sure to pack your gear in ziplock or waterproof bags. It is a lifesaver after a soaking rain.
