Operator's Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Trelew/Puerto Madryn; Transfer to Puerto Madryn
Arrive at Trelew Airport (REL), or Puerto Madryn Airport (PMY) and enjoy a private transfer with your guide/driver to your hotel in the relaxed seaside town of Puerto Madryn.
Depending on the time of your arrival and the tides, there may be the chance to make a first attempt at seeing southern right whales from the coast of Puerto Madryn, at the nearby beach of El Doradillo. The best time of year for this is from June to end of September.
Otherwise, you might like to enjoy the quaint town with its museums and excellent seafood restaurants.
Accommodation: Hotel Dazzler, Puerto Madryn
Day 2: Whale watching trip; Puerto Pirámides
Stop in at El Doradillo beach with you guide/driver, located about 20mins from Puerto Madryn, and then continue on to Puerto Pirámides (1.5hrs) to embark on a whale watching boat ride. Take your place on the Yellow Submarine where you can see whales from under the water as well as from the surface. This is a unique experience that will give you the chance to view these magnificent, giant creatures in their environment and gain a different appreciation for their grace and beauty.
This afternoon you'll drive to the east coast of the peninsula to view elephant seals and other wildlife, such as maras (Patagonian hare), Darwin rheas, armadillos, skunks, cormorants and giant petrels on what is an equivalent to being on a Patagonian safari with your guide.
Return to Puerto Pirámides for a beautiful sunset and check-in to your hotel for the night.

Accommodation: Hosteria del Nomade, Puerto Pirámides
Day 3: Kayak excursion; Puerto Pirámides
In the morning take a different perspective on the ocean as you enjoy a sea kayaking excursion with the opportunity to perhaps see more southern right whales from a distance. Expect to possibly sight other marine mammals such as sea-lions.
The afternoon is for your own explorations around Puerto Pirámides – you might choose to enjoy a long hike along the imposing coastal cliffs and look for whales and other wildlife from there. Alternatively, you can relax and enjoy the cool vibe which is endemic to the town and the friendly locals.
Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch

Day 4: Fly from Trelew or Puerto Madryn
Say goodbye to the magical UNESCO-protected area of Peninsula Valdés today as you are taken by guide/driver to Trelew Airport (REL, 3hrs), Puerto Madryn Airport (PMY, 2hrs), or the town of Puerto Madryn.
If your flight is after midday we can attempt to make another stop at El Doradillo beach, where whales dare to venture to within metres of the beach – a truly impactful sight with which to say goodbye to the region.
