Day 1: Arrive in Buenos Aires - Guided transfer, 5hr city tour, evening dining experience or tango show

Landing this morning in South America, your Swoop guide will be waiting for you at Pistarini (EZE) International Airport, around 30-minute drive outside of the city, and will take you by private vehicle to your centrally located hotel. After a little time to check in and perhaps grab some lunch on your own, this afternoon will be spent with your guide, as they show you the highlights of this marvellous city.

For approximately 5 hours, you will find out about Argentina’s fascinating history, as you get a taste of both the north and south parts of the city, discovering the important landmarks that shaped this curious nation. From the colourful immigrants' quarter of La Boca to the newest and shiniest district of Puerto Madero. Visit the bustling downtown where the settlement was established some 500 years ago and appreciate the serenity of one of the world’s most beautiful cemeteries at Recoleta (optional entrance, with a small additional cost). The cemetery showcases the beautiful architecture of the city and is the resting place for most of the country’s significant characters, including the final resting place of Argentina’s most famous daughter: Eva Duarte de Peron, or simply Evita. 

Your local guide will enlighten you about the beautiful 'Paris of South America', as you take in both wide majestic avenues from a beautiful heyday, and also take to walking some of its lesser-known gems, such as street-art-filled cobbled streets, or stop for some of the world’s best ice-cream. Your guide will be happy to tailor your time and program to best suit your desires. 

This evening Swoop has selected three different options for you to choose from: 

1 - If tango is on your bucket list, take in one of the famous professional yet intimate shows. Held in small theatres, low-lit and with live orchestras, these 1.5-hour performances passionately convey the history and evolution of this unique and scintillating dance. Most shows will finish around midnight, so be warned you’re likely to dance to night away. Transfer/dinner and drinks are all included. 

2 - If you’d prefer an evening of intimate dining whilst learning about the typical Argentine Asado (BBQ), dine in our partner’s selected restaurant, in close proximity to the chef, learning about the magic of the best BBQ in town. Learn through your senses, and experience this fantastic, truly authentic tasting menu with premium wine pairings available for an additional cost. 

3 - For a relaxed, hands-on and fun group cooking experience we recommend the 'Argentine Experience'. A mixture of cooking class, restaurant and bar, your lively hosts will introduce you to Argentina’s fabulous food and drink culture, whilst you try your hand at making your very own empanada (typical pastry turnover). Sample spectacular dishes from all over Argentina and make new friends during this fabulous small-group experience.

Day 2: Transfer to the domestic airport for your onward flight to Patagonia

Today you will be transferred, by driver only in a private vehicle, to the Buenos Aires Domestic Airport AEP Jorge Newbery in plenty of time for your onward flight down to Patagonia.

This itinerary and timing are subject to your specific flight time and can be tailored to your needs. If you prefer, it can be taken upon returning to Buenos Aires after your Patagonian adventure.
