Hotel overview:

Hidden away on a private estate just 90 minutes from El Calafate, Moreno Camp is an intimate glamping site offering a rare and secluded gateway to the famous Perito Moreno Glacier. Rather than joining the standard tourist routes, staying in one of the camp's 12 private domes provides a secret entrance into Los Glaciares National Park. Set quietly on the water's edge, it serves as a peaceful retreat where you can wake up to direct views of the ice and explore the surrounding wilderness far away from the daytime crowds.

Why we like this hotel

  • The camp feels intimate and exclusive with only 12 private domes.
  • Each 30-square-metre unit includes a warming stove, an en-suite bathroom, and views of the glacier.
  • Moreno Camp is self-sufficient. It operates on solar power and uses biodigesters to treat wastewater, ensuring minimal impact on the surrounding Patagonian forest.
  • With a team of thirty staff members for only twelve domes, the camp provides a high level of attention.
  • The two main domes serve as a nice social hub.
  • Chef Martín Lukesch delivers full-board meals with a strong Patagonian culinary identity.

We think it's worth noting

  • Depending on your travel style, you can opt for the Essential Program for a more independent stay (minimum two nights) or the Discovery Program for curated, guided expeditions (minimum three nights)
