1. Base of the Towers hike
You'll leave Remota by van for the 30-minute trip to Cerro Paine. From there you'll start your hike, heading over the Paso de los Vientos (Pass of the Wind) to reach the Ascencio Valley. From the pass you'll have an amazing view of the pampa, lakes and Ascencio Valley.
You'll follow the valley, passing through an old lenga forest to arrive at a glacial moraine - the most challenging part of the day. Once you're over this you will reach the base of the Towers lookout point.
Here you can rest, have lunch and soak up one of the most iconic views in Patagonia, before retracing your steps back to Cerro Paine.

2. Walks around Torres del Paine National Park
This is the perfect excursion on which to get an overall view of the park. During the course of the day, you'll see Torres del Paine from one side to the other. There will also be superb views of Amarga Lagoon and Lake Nordenskjöld.
You'll enjoy some short walks to visit Salto Grande, the Cuernos lookout and the icebergs viewpoint on Lake Grey beach.
Lunch and all entrance fees are included.

3. French Valley hike
Your excursion starts with a van trip to the dock at Pudeto from where you'll take a catamaran across Lake Pehoe to Paine Grande.
From here you'll begin your hike, passing by Lake Skottsberg and Italian Camp. You'll head up the French Valley, towards the viewpoint, with fantastic views of the Frances Glacier, Mt Paine Grande and Los Cuernos.
After spending time at the viewpoint, soaking up the views, you'll retrace your steps back to the catamaran for your return trip across the lake.

4. Boat trip on Lake Grey
On this excursion you'll head to Torres del Paine National Park, visiting the viewpoints for Lago del Toro, Los Cuernos and Grey Glacier.
On arrival at Lake Grey, you'll take a three-hour boat trip to the glacier, during which you'll be surrounded by icebergs and majestic mountains. Your boat will travel close to the face of the immense Grey Glacier so you can take in its 20-metre ice wall and see the colours and textures of the glacier in detail.

5. Pingo Valley hike
You'll take a van from Remota for about 90 minutes to reach the beginning of the trail. The hike along the bank of the Pingo River will take you through old forests, meadows and bushland to reach the Salmon Waterfall. Further on, you'll reach the highlight of this hike, the Pingo Waterfall, flowing from the glacier of the same name.
Throughout the walk you'll be able to spot a wide variety of native birds and possibly some huemul - a unique and endangered species of deer that lives in the depths of the forests and valleys in the national park.

Pingo Valley
6. Mirador Ferrier and Monzino hike
This excursion will take you into the western area of the Torres del Paine National Park. The first hike of the day is in the Pingo region where you'll undertake a two-hour climb to reach the fantastic panoramic views at Mirador Ferrier.
You'll retrace your steps to descend back to the vehicle, from where you'll be taken about 30 minutes to the Villa Monzino region for a more gentle hike. You'll walk to Weber Bridge and, along the way, enjoy some stunning views of the Cuernos.
This is one of the least explored areas of the national park - ideal for those wishing to avoid the more crowded places.

Ferrier viewpoint
7. Mirador del Toro hike
This excursion begins with a two-hour trip by van to the traditional Estancia Lazo, located at the foot of the Paine Massif. The trail from here is through lenga forests which have a large variety of flowers during spring and summer.
You'll have fantastic views of several lakes whose surroundings provide a refuge for several species of bird.
The trail finishes at Mirador del Toro, from where there's a 360-degree view. It's one of the best places from which to appreciate the geographic diversity of the Torres del Paine National Park.

Hiking from Estancia Lazo
8. Cerro Castillo hike
On this excursion, you'll take a 45-minute van trip to an old estancia called Complejo Torres del Paine at Cerro Castillo village. From here you'll start your challenging hike to the summit of Cerro Castillo from where there is an amazing panoramic view of the land below.
This is one of the most challenging excursions on offer, but at the same time, one of the most rewarding.

9. Cerro Tenerife hike
You'll take a van from Remota, north to the trailhead for Cerro Tenerife. This is a challenging climb, but you will be accompanied by experienced guides who will help you to reach the summit of this mountain at 1,650m/5,413ft.
Summiting Cerro Tenerife offers you a unique opportunity to experience the Patagonian landscape and you'll be well-rewarded for your effort with some superb views of the national park.

Returning from a day hike
10. Boat trip on Last Hope Fjord
This boat trip will retrace the route taken by Spanish skipper Juan Ladrilleros in 1557, when as a last hope of finding the Strait of Magellan, he came across the glaciers of Mt Balmaceda.
You'll leave Puerto Natales, sailing for three hours through the Last Hope Sound toward Mt Balmaceda, located in the Bernado O'Higgins National Park - the largest national park in Chile.
You'll dock in order to take a short walk to see the Serrano Glacier and on the return journey will visit an estancia to enjoy a traditional Patagonian lamb BBQ.

11. Benítez hike
On this excursion, you will hike to some magnificent viewpoints overlooking Lake Sofia and the Sierra Señoret Valley.
You'll also visit areas once inhabited by the Tehuelche people and see the remains of their early settlements.

12. Rupestre hike
This excursion takes place in the Rupestre area around Cerro Benítez.
The hike will take you through picturesque and ancient forests of lenga and ñirre trees to reach some fascinating geological formations. You'll be able to wander amongst these while your guide introduces you to the Aonikenk culture that thrived here in the past.

The geology of the rupestre area
13. Milodon Cave hike
On this tour you will explore three caves: Cueva Chica (Small Cave), Cueva de Medio (Medium Cave) and the large Milodon Cave. The Milodon is an extinct type of giant ground sloth that lived in Patagonia until around 10,000 years ago.
The Milodon Cave is an important archaeological and cultural monument because this is where the earliest human remains in the region were discovered.

14. Puerto Natales city tour
To understand the life in this province, it's essential to know the history of Puerto Natales and its inhabitants. On this city tour you'll learn about how the city was built and the nature of its people and their traditions.
You'll also visit numerous places of interest, such as the fisherman's dock, the City Council Museum, the main square and its surrounding buildings.

Puerto Natales
15. Estancia tour
You leave Remota by van and travel south to visit a typical Patagonian estancia for a full day, where you can learn about the spirit and character of the first settlers to this region.
You'll be taken around the estancia to see the different aspects of life here, including a visit to the shearing sheds. For lunch you'll enjoy an authentic Patagonian lamb BBQ.

Estancia Puerto Consuelo
16. Horse ride from estancia
Heading out from Remota, you'll be driven for about 30 minutes to a traditional Patagonian estancia (ranch). Here you'll be met by a gaucho who will guide you on a ride through the Patagonian landscape. You'll pass by cliffs sculpted by glaciers and some fantastic viewpoints formed by wind erosion.
Part way through the ride you'll stop for a break and share some mate - a traditional hot beverage drunk throughout Patagonia.
