John Gardner Pass Day. I love hiking up the pass. The terrain was unique to the rest of the trail. The views descending the Pass were indescribably unique and beautiful. The Grey Glacier was glorious. It was amazing to see it from so many different angles and perspectives. I could not stop taking pictures!

Our guides on both sides: When our guide Max showed us how to properly drink mate; when Lucille encouraged Judith to walk arm & arm during 50 mile an hour gusts and when Tomas walked patiently with us on the last few hours of the hike and last, Julian working to help the fast and slower group stay happy.

We deeply enjoyed the trip and the landscape. We felt the trip gave us a good overall impression of the region. Having done most of the standard hikes we'd only come back to do some of the longer, crazier things (like 7 days on the ice field).

My most memorable moment was arriving at the Towers at 83 years old and twenty years after my quadruple bypass heart operation. I had been climbing for six hours by myself with a gash in my hand that required four stitches, a sprained wrist, and cuts on my nose and lip from a fall at camp.
