Operator's Itinerary

Day 1 - Trek into the Alvear Range; Alvear Camp

The beginning of our adventure starts on Ruta 3, just a few miles north of Ushuaia. From there we will cross the Carbajal Valley and continue to the Beban Valley to set up camp in the Alvear Range.

We will pass through sub-antarctic forest and wetlands, including peatland which covers the large Fuegian valleys with its reddish hues before arriving at our destination – Alvear Camp.

Meals: Picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Alvear Camp

Day 2 - Trek to Glacier Ojo del Albino; Olum Valley Camp

Our second day begins with a climb to the amazing Lake Ojo del Albino. Its greenish and milky waters come directly from Glacier Ojo del Albino. After lunch we will put on crampons and walk on the glacier itself, before descending to Lake Esmeralda.

In the afternoon we will arrive at a mountain shelter before entering Olum Valley where we will enjoy a typical Argentinian dish, Guiso de Lentejas (lentil stew) with a red wine before a well-deserved rest at our Olum Valley Camp.

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner

Accommodation: Olum Valley Camp

Day 3 - Trek to the Beagle Channel

Our final day. We will cross and climb out of the Olum Valley until the we reach the pass between Mount Olivia and Cinco Hermanos (Five Brothers Mountains). From here we will encounter a very different landscape: the Beagle Channel and Ushuaia Bay. We will descend to the historic Estancia Túnel on the shores of the Beagle Channel, where we reach the final point of our trek.

Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch
