Chiloe Island

Castro Chiloé
Day 1 - On arrival into Santiago, you will take a 2-hour domestic flight south to the heart of the Chilean Lake District where your local guide will be waiting to receive you. Your journey will continue by road and ferry to the mystical island of Chiloe. A cosy cabin by the sea, hosted by a local family will be your base for the coming days - an ideal location to unwind after your journey.
Day 2 - After a relaxing night's sleep and breakfast by the beach you'll depart for a day of trekking on the Pacific Coast of the island - we'll visit the area around Polocue for an hour coastal walk, passing by the unique basalt columns of an extinct volcano and climbing to an outlook above the broken coastline and Rosaura beach. Afterwards, we'll continue to the "end of the road" and walk part of the Sendero de Chile, along the rugged coast and into the native rainforest. Returning to your comfortable lodging at night you'll enjoy another fresh homemade meal.
Day 3 - Today you will spend the day exploring the quiet inlets of the northern coast with its incredible bird life and wildlife. Take a boat trip to nearby islands where Magallanic and Humbolt penguins nest side by side. Your afternoon will be free to hike in the bay surrounding your cabin, sea kayak in the bay or unwind watching the local fishermen bringing the daily catch.
