Operator's Itinerary

Day 1: Peninsula Gravigna

Arrival in Trelew / Puerto Madryn / Comodoro Rivadavia. There you will be met a Patagonia Explorers guide who will take you to Bahia Bustamante (3 hour transfer) Location in the cabin. You'll then make your first contact with the kayaks. The guide will have given a briefing about the trip, the equipment, safety guidelines and environmental regulations. On this day you will be paddling the external coast of Peninsula Gravigna.

Day 2: Kayaking in Cabo Aristizabal

You'll paddle around this point and get into the Caleta Malaspina in its southern margin, and then navigate to some of its islands. You will have the opportunity to observe colonies of sea lions, terns, cormorants, penguins in their colonies and in the water, flightless steamer duck, and a variety of seabirds. You will also have the chance to go trekking in the canyons before entering the sea. Return to the Hosteria, relax and dinner.

Day 3: Kayaking on the north section of Caleta Malaspina

You'll visit some of the islands of Caleta Malaspina and then the section of an small estuaries, entering in the continent at the end of the Caleta with a great diversity of birds and a very special atmosphere. You'll be able to observe penguin colonies, cormorants, oystercatchers, terns, gulls, steamer duck, Lesser Rheas, Guanacos, etc. Some landings will be made in section were it is permitted. Return to the Hosteria, relax and dinner.

Day 4: The Petrified Forest

Departure by car to visit the Petrified Forest, you will driven 30 km from the Estancia. There you will trek, discovering fossilised remains of ancient forests and gazing at huge Trunks of petrified forest, which have become hard rock with characteristic bright opal. These replaced the original organic matter of the tree. you'll be able to see the growth rings, trace of its bark and many more features.

After lunch you'll be transferred to the airport (approx 3 hours).

Distance and Itinerary: will vary according to sea conditions and wind. It will adapt to enjoy in the best way the activity each day. In case of high winds we will make various treks in different areas.
