Day 1: Chonchi and Chiloe National Park

This excursion begins from your hotel, driving South on the Pan American Highway for 20 minutes. Chonchi is home to one of the sixteen wooden churches declared UNESCO World Heritage sites.

After visiting Chonchi you will continue driving toward the West Coast of the island through the small village of Huillinco where the cemetery has graves resembling a Chilote house. You will continue bordering the lakes Huillinco and Cucao arriving at the South entrance of the National Park. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

You will then enjoy a light hike into the forest and across the sand dunes which will lead you to an impressive beach (16 miles long). After visiting the National Park's Information Center where your guide will explain about flora, fauna and history of Chiloe, head back to your hotel arriving at approximately 17:30.
