I loved the crew who were always quietly hovering to assist me when I was in need. As an 84-year-old with mobility issues and a wheeled walker it was difficult for me to negotiate the stairs and they were always there for me when I needed. I was also delighted with how welcoming the other passengers were to my daughters and me. As the only native English speakers on this particular cruise we were made to feel very welcome. Why we like this ship

  • The A1 Ice Class enables a unique route through the remote waterways of northern Patagonia’s fjords, glaciers and villages.
  • Your guides team will ensure you’re briefed, educated and well looked after on all of your excursions, either from small boats or by foot.
  • All-inclusive freshly-prepared traditional meals and an open bar.
  • The waiting staff learn your name and add personal touches that ensure an excellent onboard experience.

We think it's worth noting...

  • There is no lift/elevator, spa, gym, pool or sauna on board.
  • Some of the cabins don't have much space or ventilation for drying clothes after excursions. 
  • There are ships with more aesthetic/modern interiors.

What to expect on board the Skorpios II

  • Warm Chilean hospitality making you feel right at home on your vessel, with numerous English-speaking staff to ensure you have the best travel experience possible.
  • Daily briefings and educational presentations from your guides team about the history and wildlife of Southern Patagonia.
  • An 'open bridge' policy when weather allows. The ship’s officers will only speak basic English.
  • Great onboard food, using local flavours, and an open bar with all drinks included.
  • Plentiful outdoor viewpoints/spaces on four decks, with two indoor lounges for relaxing and viewing.
  • There is no lift/elevator, spa, gym, pool or sauna on board. Wifi is available on some decks, though the connection may be intermittent given the remote location and should not be relied upon.
