Operator's Itinerary

1 Departure from Europe. See Flight Plan, the appointments will be announced with the final pre-departure information sheet ARGENTINA

2. Arrival in Buenos Aires (Ezeiza), transfer to the 'airport (Aeroparque, not always necessary but if it takes approx. 1 hour by bus) for domestic flights and fly to El Calafate (approx 3.30 hours). Dinner in one of the many and excellent restaurants. Hotel

3 days devoted to 'purchase of food, to recover the jet-lag, the control of' equipment and the handling of some formalities. Possibility of the 'tourist trip to the nearby Perito Moreno Glacier (cost not included). Dinner. Hotel

4 At 6:00 we start by bus to El Chalten to 220 km. away (part dirt road). Check after approx. 4 hours, accommodation at Camp Madsen and final preparations. Field area in semi-equipped

5 With a van we reach the Rio Eectrico (15 km from Pueblo) from where you start to walk dominated by the massif of Fitz Roy and enters the valley of the Rio Electrico coming to the field of Piedra del Fraile (600m in approximately 2 hours.) at the foot of the south west face of Fitz Roy, the last outpost of civilization in these parts. We went to Playa (approx. 3 hours) on the shores of Lake Electrico behind the winds often blow from the west. Golf on the beach. Camp on the moraine

6 Leaving the field begins to climb to Paso Marconi along Lake Electrico and taking the Marconi Glacier, passing under the west face of Cerro Piergiorgio you come to Paso Marconi, where you get "officially" in the Hielo Continental. (Approx. 6 hours). Difference in height approx. 1000m. Ability to use the Biv. Gorra Blanca (commonly known as Chilean or Refuge Soto) useful in case of waiting for good weather .... 7 backpacks sleds (pulk provided by us), cross the 'plateau to the base of Volcan Lautaro, visible and located at ca. 25 km away. Positioning the Base Camp at an altitude of ca. 1600m. Golf on snow

8 Climb to the top of Volcan Lautaro with backpack down to the base camp and day camp on snow

9 days of reserves, because in practice it is difficult to things that take place as planned and have some days of the reserve is vital. Golf
