Having Chucao Tapaculo and Black-throated Huet-Huets cross our paths on trails as they fed; spotting a pygmy owl feeding on songbird prey; and 7 Andean condors circling us at a glacial lake - all highlights of my birding opportunities.

Two things: First, the complete and total support and connection offered by SWOOP, who made traveling without a good grasp of Spanish so easy!!!! And all the travel activities were smooth and easy. But even more importantly, our Guide, Marcella Ibieta. She was clearly the best guide I could have imagined, and her knowledge, ability to share iinformation, sense of humour and her obvious joy in helping us learn was simply wonderful.

Patagonia is such an incredibly wild and free place. For me the landscapes and animal life was the best part. All of our guides and tours were amazing too.

It is so hard to choose what we liked most between sailing Chilean fjords on Scorpios, trekking in Torres Del Paine and Iguazu Falls, we loved everything. We had such a great experience, thank you Swoop!

Of course, getting to the base of the towers was memorable as we have been trying to make that a reality for 4-5 years now. Even more memorable, was the friendships we forged along the way. Patagonia is a special place.

While the hikes were wonderful and beautiful, our favorite part of doing these outdoor trips is sitting down to dinners and breakfasts at the Refugios and meeting other people and making new friends. We always come away from our travels having made many new friends. Some we have even gone on trips with in subsequent years.

We really enjoyed trekking on the Perito Moreno glacier - it was our first time in crampons and it was a beautiful day with a wonderful guide.

There were so many. Highlights: Cerro Castillo hikes and glorious views; The Marble Caves by kayak with the sun shining; hiking and seeing guanacos in Patagonia National Park; getting to know the boardwalks of Tortel; hot springs and close ups with dolphins in Puyuhuapi fiord. We loved being immersed in this extraordinarily beautiful and sparsely populated area of Patagonia. Seeing the stunning blue lakes and glaciers was soul-feeding. And we enjoyed self-driving! Reliable, great car. All the accommodations were great with lots of character.

Many great moments with the standouts for the private tours through Buenos Aires through Squier the Austra cruise was incredible with the zodiac boats, going to the glaciers every day
