Getting to and from your trip

You'll start and finish your cruise in Puerto Montt.

In terms of getting to Puerto Montt, this will depend on where you are arriving from.

There are regular flights between Puerto Montt Airport (PMC) and Santiago (SCL, 10/day, 1hr45mins), Punta Arenas (PUQ, 2hrs) and Coyhaique (GXQ, 1hr).

Road options include public buses between Puerto Montt and Pucón, San Carlos de Bariloche and Punta Arenas.

This A1 Ice Class Small expedition ship, with 55 cabins and remodelled in 2008, provides the ideal base from which to explore the remote and stunning waterways of northern Patagonia’s fjords, glaciers and villages.

Each cabin has a private bathroom, TV, wardrobe, bedside tables, a safe and the option of background music. Beds are comfortable and cosy with thick mattresses, soft pillows and plenty of warm covers. Cabins have traditional decor, are well-maintained and are cleaned every day.

The main dining room, where breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner is served, is on the Acropolis deck. There are tables of different sizes and you dine at the same table for each meal, giving you the chance to get to know your fellow passengers. There is great onboard food, using local flavours, and an open bar with all drinks included.

In between excursions, meal times and lectures, relax in the San Rafael or the Quitralco lounge on the Parthenon deck. There is a bar, comfy sofas, tables and televisions; movies are shown at regular intervals. All drinks and snacks are included.

There is no lift/elevator, spa, gym, pool or sauna on board. WIFI is available on some decks, though the connection may be intermittent given the remote location and should not be relied upon.

Your guides team will ensure you’re briefed, educated and well looked after on all of your excursions, either from small boats or by foot.

Customer Tips

Prepare to dress warmly. And be prepared to deal with wide variations in the weather in the course of one day. Bring a hat/beanie that won't blow off in the wind.
