Operator's Itinerary

Day 1 - Transfer from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales

Take the bus from Punta Arenas to Puerto Natales. Buses leave throughout the day and take between 2.5-3 hours. Enjoy the evening exploring Puerto Natales at your leisure.

Day 2 - Admire the Towers of Torres del Paine

After breakfast you'll be joined by your guide and travel by bus (2.5 hrs) to Laguna Amarga, just inside Torres del Paine National Park. A small van will take you the rest of the way to your campsite, Camping Las Torres. Leave the bulk of your luggage at camp then set off on one of the park's most scenic treks: Mirador de Las Torres (Las Torres Lookout). You can expect this walk to take 8 hours approximately.

Dinners are served at the "Refugios" near the camping site and food is simple but great fuel for the activity (pasta, rice, chicken). Lunches consist of sandwiches, fruit and snacks. Tents and sleeping mattress are provided while camping.

Day 3 - Explore the French Valley

After breakfast you take a regular bus to Pudeto before boarding a catamaran to take you across Lake Pehoe to Camp Paine Grande, where you will spend the night. Once at the campsite you start today's trek along the Valle Frances which allows you to enjoy views of Los Cuernos del Paine (The Horns) and the French Glacier. Today's hike takes approximately 6 hours.

Day 4 - Lookout over Grey Glacier

Today you walk to the Glacier Grey section of Torres del Paine. You will have the chance to visit the "Los Guardas" lookout area, undoubtedly one of the best lookouts over Grey Glacier. Today you can expect to walk for approximately 6 hours.

Day 5 - Return to Puerto Natales

Early in the morning you hike back to Camping Paine Grande and board a catamaran to cross the lake and continue by bus to Puerto Natales. Today you will hike for approximately 3.5 hours and you can expect to arrive in Puerto Natales around 1600. Upon arrival to Puerto Natales you will bid farewell to your local guide.

Day 6 - Transfer to El Chalten

Morning bus to El Calafate (5 hrs) then an afternoon transfer to El Chalten (3 hrs).

During the journey, once the bus turns west along the huge Viedma lake, you will have your first spectacular views of the mountains and glaciers. At the bus station your driver will be waiting to take you to your hotel. This evening you will have time to meet your guide for a briefing on the itinerary, and to ask any questions you may have.

Day 7 - Hike to Laguna de los Tres

Before the trek you will meet up with the guide who will check you have all the correct clothing and equipment for the trek. Once ready, we start with a 30 minute transfer taking us to the trailhead, 16km from town. From there we walk in the direction of Poincenot Camp and the Fitz Roy range.

On the way you will pass through a wonderful lenga (beech) forest, pass by the hanging glacier of Piedras Blancas and marvel at the peak of Fitz Roy from different angles. Once you get to the camp, you leave your overnight gear and continue up to Laguna de los Tres right in front of Mount Fitz Roy, where we might see some climbers ascending. After having lunch and time for photos and contemplation, we return to the camp. Today you will hike for 7 to 8 hours with a medium to high physical intensity.

Day 8 - Hike to Laguna Torre

After breakfast you make your way into the beautiful Valley de la Madre and the Hija lagoons, which then leads to the Cerro Torre valley. The trail is beautiful and gentle with some ups and downs and with changing views of the surrounding mountains.

Once we get to the camp there's time for a break, a cup of tea and to enjoy the peaceful surroundings before continuing on to the Maestri Viewpoint, where the legendary climber used to eye-up his climb of the Cerro Torre in the 1950s. From this here we can see the Cerro Torre and the Grande glacier from above in all its length. Today you will hike for 6 to 7 hours with a low to medium physical intensity.

Day 9 - Hike to the Torre Glacier or climb the Agachonas Pass

We will begin our day with a short walk to Laguna Torre to cross over the Fitz Roy river on a zipline. From here, depending on the weather conditions and your physical ability, you have 2 options:

Option 1 - A really nice walk along the lake lateral moraine to a point near the face of the Torre glacier - a unique and remote look out. We return by the zip line and on to the town along the valley. You can expect to hike for 5 hours and for the physical intensity to be low to medium. 

Option 2 - Climb up the Agachonas pass from where you will get views across the entire valley. You will then descend into the rio Tunel valley and return to town along the Pliegue Tumbado hill. You can expect to hike for 9-10 hours and for the physical intensity to be medium to high. 

The day closes with an evening bus journey to El Calafate.

1) 2 nights in El Calafate in private room & Perito Moreno balconies and boat trip (USD $335 per person)

3) 2 nights in El Calafate in private room & Perito Moreno balconies and ice hike (USD $395 per person)

4) 2 nights in El Calafate in hostel shared room & Perito Moreno balconies and ice hike (USD $220 per person)
