Life before Swoop
Shortly after starting at university, I joined the Mountaineering Club and I have never looked back. I filled my summers with exciting trips to the places climbers dream about: the French Alps in Chamonix, the Italian Dolomites, climbing long multi-pitch routes up vast faces of rock and bivvying under the stars. I love the outdoors, spending almost every weekend away exploring the countryside. You will normally find me climbing weathered Welsh sea cliffs, or hiking in the mountains of North Wales and the Lake District, wild camping and washing in ice cold lakes, enjoying the rugged beauty of the surrounding landscapes.
I also have a real passion for photography, trying to capture the atmosphere of great adventures, inspiring others to go out and explore. From expansive landscapes to adventure action shots, I love trying to take a photo that will really take you back to the moment, recreating vivid memories.
Working at Swoop I am constantly inspired by the towering granite spires and stunning blue lakes of Patagonia. I would love to have a mega Patagonian climbing adventure, with an epic multi-pitch ascent of one of the Fitz Roy peaks, followed by a trip to the sport climbing mecca of Piedra Parada in central Argentina.
