What was your most memorable moment?

Meeting and interacting with the Chilean people. Experiencing the wildness of the country. Reveling in the vast unspoiled back country. And so much more.

Tell us about Barraco Lodge

Off the charts good. Great staff, unforgettable experiences and extraordinary location.

Tell us about Aysen

I would go back in a heart beat! All of our experiences were highlights.

Tell us about the kayaking

We loved Estancia Peuma Hue, just outside of Bariloche. Kayaking, horseback riding and hiking. Beautiful estate.

Tell us about the trekking

Rain, sleet and snow could not stop us! Some was guided and some was on our own. Always an adventure!

Something Else?

We were there in the shoulder season, mid November to mid December. If you like no crowds and are able to withstand some industrial strength weather, excellent time. If you want more sunshine and are able to put up with more people, maybe go a little latter. I would not trade our time there for more sunshine and people. It made for an exceptional opportunity to interact with the staff and guides, one on one. SWOOP ROCKS!

Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to Patagonia?

Use Swoop to help plan a trip to your liking, and create an adventure you will not forget. Travel in a group of four +/-, then you have a better chance of getting into small. incredible lodges. That reads "no tour buses".

Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?

I always learn and grow from travel. My perspective has not changed from this trip, but it has been enhanced by the Chilean people.

Do you have any recommendations or feedback for the Swoop team?

The only suggestions would be to flesh out the directions on your final itinerary. Perhaps use scaled coordinates from Google maps for locations of various places, like Mary Sandoval's place, Patagonia House and others which were difficult for us to find. Then one could get close enough to find the spot. Anything that you and your team could add that would help a weary traveler find at the end of the day. In closing, we would use gladly use Swoop again and will highly recommend you to others. Regards Grover
